The project

Adrienne, the founder of Gemini Visuals, contacted me with the goal to transition from WordPress to Squarespace as she was looking for a more user-friendly platform that doesn't require maintenance. Her goals for the website redesign were to create a professional and modern site, enhance brand visibility, simplify navigation, and strike a balance between professionalism and creativity. She also aimed to reach a larger audience due to the variety of sessions she offers and enhance brand recognition. Adrienne only had a logo and a specific blue hue in her logo that she wanted to be incorporated into the new design.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with an in-depth questionnaire to understand Adrienne’s business her vision and inspiration. I conducted a thorough audit of her current website to identify areas for improvement, which we then discussed during our website strategy session.

The Squarespace website redesign process involved helping Adrienne update content with SEO guidance and best practices. We streamlined the navigation system with definitive calls-to-action and developed a cohesive web branding package, including a new color scheme and typography system. As a photographer, it was essential to create a portfolio template page so that she could independently add more galleries in the future. We also worked on clearly outlining pricing packages and transferred all blog posts from WordPress to Squarespace. This entailed setting up URL redirects and organizing posts into well-defined categories for easy browsing. Upon project completion, I provided Adrienne with a video tutorial and a PDF guide explaining the custom-coded elements, ensuring she could manage her website independently.

Our collaboration resulted in a unique, modern, and well-structured custom Squarespace website that effectively displays Adrienne’s photography portfolio and services. The new site features a unique brand identity, balancing creativity and professionalism. The fully customized design enhances user experience, enabling visitors to easily navigate, view portfolios, and book sessions. The organized blog structure augments SEO, attracting more traffic to the site.
