The project

David, the founder of We Host Canada, contacted me to establish their online presence for their short-term rental property management business. Based in Edmonton with properties in Edmonton, Calgary, and Saint-John's, they wanted an elegant and professional website. The site needed to attract both visitors and property owners, highlight their properties with direct booking links, and showcase their experience and process. Although they had a logo, they were dissatisfied with its color and only had one version.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with an in-depth questionnaire to uncover David’s vision and specific requirements. We followed up with a strategy call to delve deeper into the direction of the website. Throughout the process, I supported David in gathering content, including conducting stock image research and guiding him with content SEO best practices to ensure optimal discoverability.

I started the process by crafting a unified brand identity by developing their web branding with a moodboard, color palette, and typography system. Recognizing the need for an updated logo, I created two versions of their logo in black and white to better reflect their business and resonate with their target audience. Additionally, I created a favicon to enhance their website's branding.

I then proceeded the design and development process of their Squarespace website. I prioritized user-friendly navigation and structured property pages with clear calls-to-action. This approach guarantees a seamless experience for both tourists and homeowners navigating the site. The design features a refined, modern aesthetic that aligns perfectly with their brand identity, effectively highlighting their properties and integrating direct booking links for enhanced usability.

Upon project completion, I provided David with a video tutorial and a PDF guide explaining the custom-coded elements, enabling him to manage and update the website independently.

The result is a polished, modern, and well-organized custom Squarespace website that accurately showcases We Host Canada's properties and services. With a distinct brand identity that is elegant and professional, the fully customized design enhances user experience, facilitating easy navigation, property viewing, and booking. The site also serves as a clear guide for homeowners, positioning it as a valuable resource for all visitors.
