The project

Cristal contacted me to redesign her Squarespace website to better reflect her personality and the intimate nature of her boudoir photography. She was opening a new studio with a distinct ambiance for boudoir photography and wanted the site to capture this new atmosphere while staying true to her brand. The site needed to seamlessly connect the two different moods of her studios, clearly outline her services, showcase beautiful galleries, present product options, and simplify the booking process. Additionally, as a painter, Cristal wanted the design to reflect the parallelism between her paintings and her unique approach to photography.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with a detailed questionnaire to understand Cristal's vision and requirements, followed by an inspiration session and a strategy call to discuss the website direction.

I then conducted a thorough audit of her current website to identify areas for improvement. I provided guidance on optimizing her copy with SEO best practices in mind to enhance search engine visibility. With only a logo available, I first developed a comprehensive web branding package, including a moodboard, color palette, and typography system that aligned with her photography style and target audience. To further enrich the site, I incorporated cohesive imagery that captured the intimate and personal essence of her boudoir photography, as well as the artistic elements that echo her painting style.

To ensure Cristal could easily manage and update her site, I provided a PDF guide and a video tutorial explaining the custom-coded elements.

The resulting website is unique and accurately reflects Cristal's personality and work. It effectively showcases her photography through beautiful galleries, clearly outlines her services and product options, and provides a seamless booking process. The site captures the intimate mood of her new studio while maintaining a cohesive brand identity, highlighting the parallelism between her paintings and her singular approach to photography. This makes it easy for clients to explore her offerings and book sessions.
