The project: Natural Skincare Website

Ayla reached out to me to redesign her Squarespace eCommerce website following the creation of a new logo, brand graphics, and new brand photography. She wanted a Squarespace website that would effectively showcase her products, better reflect her philosophy and improve the overall user experience. The goal was to create a visually appealing, user-friendly natural skincare website that highlights the unique qualities of Communion Botanicals' products while making it easy for customers to explore and make purchases.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with an in-depth questionnaire to capture Ayla’s vision and requirements. This was followed by a strategy call to discuss the website's direction and objectives in greater detail. Throughout the process, I supported Ayla in gathering her content, optimizing her copy and messaging to ensure clarity and impact.

I then developed the web branding, including a moodboard, a color palette in natural tones to reflect the purity of the products, a typography system for the website, and a favicon. I then designed and developed the website, upgrading it from Squarespace 7.0 to the more advanced 7.1 version to take full advantage of the latest features.

The design and development process took two weeks, during which I focused on creating a site that reflected the sensory experience of Ayla's products. The website was designed to be minimalistic to highlight the products and the narrative of the brand photography, ensuring easy navigation and showcasing the unique qualities of her offerings. I also designed the store page and a blog to enhance content and SEO.

The result is a unique, clear, and natural website that perfectly reflects the essence of Communion Botanicals. The design is minimalistic, allowing the focus to be on the products and the story told through the photography. The site provides an optimized user experience, making it easy for customers to navigate, explore, and purchase products. The new design successfully conveys the sensitivity and care that go into each product, aligning seamlessly with Ayla's brand philosophy.
