Paula, the counselor, provides support to youth and adults, helping them navigate life's challenges and transitions to find their purpose, ultimately achieving a balanced and fulfilling life. Her approach considers the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.

The project

Paula approached me to design a custom Squarespace website for her new therapy business. In addition to the website, she needed a brand photography session to enhance her online presence.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with a strategy call where we discussed Paula’s brand, goals, and inspirations. I provided recommendations on writing copy and reviewing SEO best practices to ensure her website would be effective and easily discoverable. Paula only had a logo, so I developed a color palette and a font system for her website.

Based on the branding work, we planned the photography session in Squamish, focusing on capturing both business portraits and lifestyle images to reflect Paula's approach and personality. We carefully selected locations that would resonate with her brand and used the website color palette to create a cohesive photography palette. These images were intended to create a warm and welcoming online presence inspired by nature.

The website design focused on displaying information for her future patients in an easily accessible manner. We created a clear and intuitive navigation system with straightforward calls-to-action, making it easy for visitors to find the service they needed.

Over the course of two weeks, I designed and developed a semi-custom Squarespace website for Paula. The design process started with the creation of the homepage wireframe and key sections, ensuring the site was both visually appealing and functional.

At the end of the design build, I provided Paula with a video recording and a PDF of the custom-coded elements, enabling her to update her website independently with ease.

The outcome of our web design collaboration is a unique, clear, and user-friendly website that effectively reflects Paula's personality and professional approach. The brand photography supports her story, creating a welcoming atmosphere that resonates with her clients. Paula can easily maintain and update the site, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for her counseling practice.
