The project

Steven, the owner of Maple Ridge Trading Company, contacted me to design a Shopify website for his new business. Maple Ridge Trading Company specializes in high-quality khakis made exclusively in Canada. These khakis are comfortable, practical, eco-friendly, and stylish, embodying everyday comfort and style. Based and manufactured in Vancouver, BC, the company aims to provide top-tier khakis for men. Steven wanted an elegant, professional, and detailed website with a classical and editorial feel to effectively launch his first two products.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with a comprehensive questionnaire to understand Steven’s vision and requirements. This was followed by a strategy call to delve deeper into his business and discuss the website's direction.

Steven only had a logo. To build a cohesive brand identity, I developed web branding that included a color palette and typography system designed to resonate with his brand and target audience.

Using his professional photography, I designed a Shopify website with a clear narrative, strong calls-to-action, and clear FAQs to help potential customers find their answers easily. I also designed a custom size chart to assist customers in selecting the right fit for their khakis. The design process focused on creating an elegant and professional look, with an editorial feel that aligned with Steven's vision. Upon project completion, I provided Steven with a video tutorial and a PDF guide to help him easily edit and manage custom sections of the website independently.

The result is a refined, modern, and editorial Shopify website that effectively showcases the brand, products, and their quality. The design highlights the elegance of the khakis and provides an easy-to-navigate interface for potential customers. The inclusion of a custom size chart ensures that customers can confidently choose the right size, enhancing their shopping experience.
