The project

Jocelyn Pettit contacted me to redesign her website. Preparing for the release of her new album "Wind Rose," she needed a modern, easy-to-maintain platform. Jocelyn required a blog to share news, a store to sell her albums, an events page for performances, and a section for music classes and workshops to facilitate bookings. Additionally, she needed the ability to easily update the website as her career progressed. Jocelyn also wanted a photography session for her new album to provide fresh images for the site.

The Squarespace website design process

Our collaboration began with a detailed questionnaire to understand Jocelyn's vision and requirements. This was followed by an inspiration session and a strategy call to discuss the website direction.

We first focused on the photography session for her album "Wind Rose," planning everything from the moodboard, research, and locations to wardrobe, accessories, and color palette.

Simultaneously, we started preparing the website. I assisted Jocelyn in gathering and optimizing her content.

With only a logo at hand, I developed a comprehensive web branding package, including a moodboard, color palette, typography system, and a favicon, all aligned with her album's aesthetic. I also created logo variations for better adaptability across different platforms.

The design and development process took two weeks, encompassing key features such as:

  • Blog: To share her news and updates.

  • Online Store: For selling her albums.

  • Events Page: To promote upcoming performances.

  • Music Classes & Workshops: To facilitate easy booking for potential students.

The website was designed to be well-organized, visually appealing, and easy for Jocelyn to edit and maintain.

The final result is a unique website that truly reflects Jocelyn's music and brand. It features a strong, cohesive brand identity and is well-organized, making it easy for her to update and for visitors to navigate. The new site effectively supports her album release, showcases her performances, and promotes her music classes, ensuring she can connect with her audience seamlessly.

Ongoing Collaboration

Since then, our collaboration has continued. I had the rewarding opportunity to design the "Wind Rose" album, including the photography. Additionally, I created posters, flyers, business cards, and postcards for her promotional needs. I am delighted to support Jocelyn throughout her musical journey and contribute to her ongoing success.
